Cindy Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun [1984]

Cyndi Lauper est née le 22 juin 1953 à New York. Elle abandonne rapidement l'école pour se tourner vers sa passion. Elle prend des cours de chant, puis écrit avec le pianiste John Turi. Ils forment la même année le duo Blue Angel. Ils sortent un album en 1980 qui s'avère être un fiasco, c'est alors que Cyndi entame sa carrière solo. En 1983, elle réalise "She's So Unusual". Sur cet album, on peut y trouver le populaire "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", acidulé et sautillant, mais aussi "Time After Time", repris ensuite par Miles Davis et Eva Cassidy, "She Bop", qui passe pour une sorte d'apologie de la masturbation, et "All Through The Night". Cet album, accueilli de façon mitigée par la critique lors de sa sortie, sera pourtant acclamé beaucoup plus tard.

Suivent les disques "True Colors", "A Night To Remember". En 2001, paraît un best of "Time After Time". 2 ans plus tard, Cyndi Lauper sort l'album "At Last". Elle revient dans les bacs en 2006 avec le disque "The Body Acoustic" puis avec "The Very Best Of", en 2007.
